What we do

As part of the WhoDis Project, we will update our progress through news updates and frequently updated blogs, exploring critical topics within our research as we continue to develop a leading AI detection tool to uncover the origins of conspiracy theories and movements designed to threaten our democracies and the rights that we so deeply enjoy. 

As part of Justice for Prosperity’s multidisciplinary approach, we aim to expand our work by partnering with leading news publications and esteemed academics, journalists, and policymakers. 

Together with the output from the WhoDis visualization tool, our findings and publications will spread awareness and knowledge, allowing the communities in our society targeted by hate speech to counteract the spread of conspiracy theories and hatred by identifying the source of the spread of these hateful campaigns that destabilize our democracy.

How do we assess the toxicity of Hate Speech?

When a subject, such as the toxicity of hate speech, is so divisive, so is the assessment of what can be considered as hate speech. Using the Rabat Plan of Action, as stated in 2012 by the European Court of Human Rights, at Justice for Prosperity, we consider the
following: 

  1. The Context of the Speech
  2. The Speaker
  3. The Intent
  4. The content and the form of the speech
  5. The extent of the speech 
  6. The likelihood of the speech producing immediate actions against its targets.
